Summary
Summary:
Under general supervision, is responsible for customer service and administrative work of moderate difficulty within a Hotel setting; and performs related work as required.
Distinguishing Features:
An employee in this class is responsible for operating the front desk of a hotel during the 3rd shift, performs administrative work, and may be required to make decisions in the absence of management when immediate action is required.
Work problems which involve critical deviations from standard policies and procedures are reviewed with a supervisor.
This class differs from TSP Front Desk Associate in that an incumbent of the latter does not have audit responsibilities.
Responsibilities Audits, maintains, compiles, codes, categorizes, calculates, and tabulates information or data for accuracy and completeness.
Uses relevant information, audit guidelines, and professional judgment to analyze all daily operational and financial transactions to ensure they are completed accurately, on time, securely, and comply with fiscal policy, audit regulations, and operational standards.
Breaks down information or data received or obtained from verbal, written, or electronic communication into separate parts to audit and verify daily that transactions and revenue results are correct and complete.
Understands departmental policies and procedures, interprets rules and regulations to ensure compliance and consistency of standards of performance.
Using computers and computer systems to enter, process, and evaluate, all night audit information.
Communicates effectively with peers and supervisors daily regarding accuracy of procedures and records.
When appropriate, leaves clear messages to co-workers or supervisors to ensure they are informed in a timely fashion about critical deviations from standard procedures and guest requests or other needed information or actions.
Conducts front office functions including, but not limited to, taking reservations, answering telephones, and taking accurate messages.
Verifies and inputs employee tips, reviews group contracts against actuals for rooms and events to ensure everything is correct before departure, creates documents or forms, files documents and performs other related functions.
Provides accurate and timely reports and information to supervisors and co-workers as requested.
Performs physical activities related to the maintenance of the hotel lobby such as cleaning public areas, managing gift shop inventory, moderate to heavy lifting, walking, stooping, standing, sitting, typing, and handling of materials.
Communicates to appropriate supervisor and support group immediately in the event of equipment failure that impacts guest experiences or the ability to perform job duties.
Provides customer service and troubleshooting to guests regarding various issue related to their stay.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
